-Allows accessory dwellings units – meaning each homeowner can add rental units to their existing property with NO SET BACK or configuration requirement or restrictions, and NO HEIGHT restrictions. Supporters use a 320,000 state-wide housing shortage to justify these changes.SB 840 by Hughes
-Developers can build apartments with NO RESTRICTION ON HEIGHT, DENSITY, SET BACK, BUFFER, and NO CODE restriction, NO TRAFFIC IMPACT ANALYSIS, NO FEES and only 1 parking space per unit.
SB 854- by Middleton
– ALLOWS ALL RELIGIOUS ENTITIES TO BUILD MULTI- FAMILY UNITS on religious land without any restrictions – no density, no height, etc. “Religious entities” are not defined- so create a church and build, build, build. These laws will affect ALL towns, and all land in the state of Texas. Please, please call the top 8 and more if you can, ask them to vote – NO! Thank you! The others are on the Senate Committee.
